New sights

It's funny to see how things have changed in the month that I've been away from Shanghai. For instance, when I left, several storefronts around the corner from my building were undergoing renovation. Two of the three of them have been completed in my absence, and they now house a Chinese fast-food place and.... a KFC. Methinks it's a good thing they're only coming in now, so that the damage this will inevitably do to my cholesterol (I'm not planning on becoming a regular; I'm just a realist about my laziness and weakness for fried foods) will at least be limited. I can't wait to see what the third one is... hopefully not a McDonalds or Pizza Hut, although as they all stand in a row, it would be sort of amusing to have the trifecta.

Anyway, I'm back and in the process of downloading and organizing photos so that I can get the travelogue going. If you have any special requests for posts (scenery, ruins, food (of course), etc), you know how to holla. I'm going to try to be chronological (either backwards or forwards; not sure yet), but there might be some skipping around, you never know. Gotta keep you guys on your toes, after all.
