As you can guess, I'm not pleased about this development. Sure, seeing the snow was nice (it's not an annual occurrence here), and I know that given the temperatures and precipitation levels some of you are experiencing I shouldn't complain, but I'm a cold-weather wuss (and frankly, if you live in Canada or New England, you know what you're in for. It's supposed to be warmer than DC here, dangit!). And it's a wet cold, the bone-chilling kind. Weather.com tells me that it should be 36 degrees out, but feels like 28. Since there's no appreciable wind, I can only guess that it's because of the 70% humidity. Brrr.
Unlike in Beijing, though, here you can actually see that the sky is blue. I'm not nominating Shanghai for any clean-air awards, but when I woke up Monday morning, it was legitimately a bright, sunshine-y day, and you could tell the difference between the clouds and the sky.

Huh?No, I haven't seen the movie, and yes, I chose the name anyway. I'm told an Asian woman with green eyes is a plot point. Archives
