Mine are bigger than yours 02/24/2008
![]() These were on sale everywhere in Hong Kong. I still haven't figured out why; I have yet to see them on the mainland (people playing cards in public is a common sight here -- all normal-sized decks, though). ![]() Maybe this is what they mean in HK when they say "big marketing campaign". Mr Extra Large Corn here was later joined by Miss Growth Hormone Porkchop (complete with big red lips and eyelashes -- funny, I've never thought of my chops as female). Unfortunately, I didn't get a shot of them working the crowd together. Elsewhere, I also came across a big inflatable-head chef (for some spaghetti chain), and Geoffrey the Giraffe from Toys R Us. Pictures of more oversized (but real!) food here. CommentsCraig Sun, 24 Feb 2008 09:02:55 While I can't explain the "all over Hong Kong" phenomena, the super-sized cards seem ideal for magic shows. If the fledgling mage has a show in a park or largish venue, then a normal size deck might be too small for the audience to see. Now, the super-sized deck? Much more visible to young and old alike. lt in big c Mon, 25 Feb 2008 03:19:41 But how do you fit such a large card up your sleeve? Now *that* would be some good sleight of hand. Leave a Reply |
